Fall To Rise
Collection
For years I have been collecting this beautiful material that nature gives us as a gift: birch tree bark.
Now a whole collection of unique collages has been created with this beautiful material in the leading role.
'Fall to Rise' is about the fact that 'falling' is part of our lives and that sometimes it is precisely the fall that brings us to a higher and brighter version of ourselves. Just like the birch tree sheds pieces of bark in order to grow into a more beautiful, larger tree.
I find this a hopeful and soothing thought.
When I wrote the titles of the works, I noticed that they are connected to each other just like the sentences of a poem. Once I had the whole poem, I felt the need to sing it.
